The Story Your Brand Lives

Branding for Creatives with Jeff Davis

An interactive workshop in branding with integrity & artfulness. Intended for change-making creatives, creative entrepreneurs, & business artists.

A brand story communicates our values and our skills in a way that sticks – our community, our colleagues, our clients, and our stakeholders. This workshop will give your audience the building blocks to help them shape their stories about the work they do, why they do it, and why it matters now. This workshop takes the yuck and sting out of branding. It helps your audience understand and experience how story-centered and mission-centered branding makes marketing an authentic, meaningful, and valuable endeavor that results not only in attracting more customers but potentially creating a community of fans.

About Soundwalk Collective

Soundwalk Collective’s approach to composition combines anthropology,  ethnography, non-linear narrative, psychogeography, the observation of nature, and explorations in recording and synthesis. The source material of their works is always linked to specific locations, natural or artificial, and requires long periods of investigative travel and field work. Along the years, they performed live, among other spaces and festivals, at Opéra de Lyon, CTM Festival (Berlin), KW Institute of Contemporary Art (Berlin), Novas Frequencias Festival (Rio De Janeiro), Arma 17 (Moscow),  Barbican Centre (London), Berghain (Berlin), Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), Florence Gould Hall (New York),  Mobile Art by Zaha Hadid (Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York), MUDAM (Luxemburg), MuCEM (Marseilles), Museo Madre (Naples), National Museum of Singapore and the New Museum (New York), TAP (Poitiers), Villa de Noailles – Centre d’Art et de Culture Contemporain (Hyéres), Palazzo Reale (Milan) and La Triennale (Milan), documenta14 (Athens, Kassel). They had solo exhibitions at the Rubin Museum of Art (New York), District Six Museum (Cape Town), Capo dArte, Gagliano del Capo (Lecce, Italy), and in New York’s Times Square, where in April 2016 they mounted Jungle-ized, a large participative audio-visual installation. Killer Road, their homage to musician and singer Nico, authored with Patti Smith and Jesse Paris Smith, was performed live in 2014 in Berlin, London, and New York, anticipating release of the eponymous record. In April 2017 they published their latest album Before Music There Is Blood that features a rework by Max Loderbauer. In June 2017 they composed the music for the latest creation of Sasha Waltz ‘Kreatur’, which saw its world premiere at Radialsystem V in Berlin.
